Fanm Djanm turns 4

Last week, Fanm Djanm, a brand created by my dear friend Paola Mathé turned 4. Paola is the creative genius behind the brand that is known for its headwraps and eclectic accessories. On any given day, you’ll see me wearing my fanmdjanm bangles. To celebrate this milestone, the brand put together a brunch and invited some influencers, models, makeup artists and other creatives who have all worked with fanmdjanm.

The event took place in a high ceiling, well lit loft in Brooklyn. I wore an olive green Kimono from Fanm Djanm which is actually named after me “Mamacaxx” – “A gorgeous, dramatic and super long kimono with belt”. I paired it with nude pumps and one of their new linen headwraps which will come out this Spring. To complete the look I added my favorite Luanda Bangles.

The event started with some cocktails and a home cooked brunch and some great conversations. Only a week after Beyonce’s epic Coachella performance so it’s only natural that 15 minutes were dedicated to discuss Beychella. Everyone then went around talking about how they met Paola and how she has inspired and supported them. Although Paola was not in attendance, her presence was undeniable.

This brunch further reinforced what I’ve always known, Fanm Djanm is not only a woman owned and black owned company but it’s also a community of women who care about and support each other.
